Berlin-based hyperbolic IDM artist IXXF lost their body but not their voice. Their debut is a genre-bending music project that separates the artistic output from the individual's body — from the voice of a gendered and embodied Persona.

Trap and deconstructed club music blend in with bold pop anthems - and even fragments of emo punk, into an artificial but yet heartwarming sound. To conquer the idea of the artist's voice as a primal extension of the  singer themselves, a direct link from their anatomy to the audience, IXXF  uses digital effects and voice manipulation to free the music from the restrictions of the artist's physical presence.

IXXF has numerous features by gender challenging artists on like Pussy Riot, Catnapp, Galen Tipton, Jinka, Lamb Kebab, Recovery Girl, Atlas Moe and more on their debut album. These collabs sound like a single, disembodied voice that represents the music with a maximum of authenticity.

IXXF is an inclusive musical journey and proves that an artist is not defined by their persona, but can  become their own vision through simultaneous impersonation by a  multitude of bodies in various (fluid) forms.

Friends to the end IXXF and Catnapp stomp onto the dancefloor as the best dressed pair in the club, yelling over the microphone on this song about digital friendships. Best described as hyperpunk, the beat carrying "1MF" takes a sauntering pace, comfortably supporting the energetic vocals by booming and crashing methodically. Bearing their teeth on the cover art, IXXF and Catnapp are eager to scare away the fake friends accumulated through social media. CGI music video created by Ksti Hu for IXXF’s debut single, “Everything Sucks” portrays a character who feels helpless in a broken world. While crawling through the mud, IXXF wails “I SUCK AT THIS!” But as the camera pans around to abandoned commercial and material artifacts, one can only question if the character’s insecurities come as a product of their environment. Originally to be titled “I SUCK” we decided to change the title to “Everything Sucks” to tell those experiencing 2020 they can only be responsible for so much. There are tons of folks who internalize the bad and feel at fault or guilty. Hopefully this video reminds those people to look around to see we are all in this together.
